FTP is an acronym used for File Transfer Protocol, which is a means to manage the files linked with your website. The cPanel (your hosting account control panel) is accompanied with an FTP server which is already configured and is user-friendly. You are required to set up your email accounts and FTP accounts, and access the Fantastico Deluxe application in your cPanel. If you have a website, your FTP access should already be configured. You can probably login through FTP by keying in the username and password of your cPanel account. FTP accounts can also be set up for other users. All you need to do is create a users account. This is how the user can login to your website through an FTP client like Cyberduck or FileZilla.
How to login into your hosting cPanel?
1.Go to your web browser.
2.Type http://www.yourdomainname/cpanel in the address bar and hit enter. (Your domain name will be the domain name you have linked with your hosting account)
3.A window will pop up on your screen, asking for your username and password. This would be the same username and password created at the time of your signing up, and can be viewed in the Important Login Details email. Fill the information in the space provided and hit enter.
4.You can now check the cPanel main page of your hosting account.
In case you do not see the popup window of the username and password, check if your system has not been enabled to a popup blocker. You would need to uncheck it, so that pop-ups are always allowed for your cPanel access.
Your cPanel can also be accessed by using the IP address of your web server where your account resides. The IP address you have been assigned to, can be viewed in the Important Login Details email.
